In the following article, the author has set forth a new theory of atomic structure which has received a great deal of appreciation from scientists in this country. The main assumption in this theory is that the electrons are stationary and situated in concentric shells. By means of this theory the writer found that it is possible to explain the periodic properties of the elements, and also succeeded in evolving a new view of valency which bids fair to replace all the older views on this subject. （上ノ文ハ論文ノ前書ナリ）
